Simple logic!
Where poverty is abound people can be prepared to die.
Logically, it should have been Saudi Arabia; but it is not! Why? Because they are rich; and rich dont want to die (Osama is an exception, thogh!) Rich are making poor to die for the ideological causes of the rich.
Sub continent should form its own interpretation of Islam, a great religion that it is! The lead should come from India. Let some intelligentia inject wisdom into the minds of Deoband school.
If Deoband school interprets Islam correctly, many in Pak and Bangla will follow them rather than the diktats of Wahabi school of Saudi.
Pakistan is not a position to do it, as it is already afflicted with the disease. It should come from outside. Only India can provide a good solution.
India should target terrorism both at the logistics & military and also at the ideological level. India inhabits the second largest muslim population in the world. Its islamic scholars are not any less than Saudi scholars!
If there is one school that can provide the longterm solution to terrorism and save millions of people (both targeted and suicide bombers) only Deoband can do it.
Let the Indian govt devise mechanism for it.
Let it garner all intelligentia and reform Deoband.
Stop external monetary support to them.
The oldest form of Kashmiri practised Islam is real. Hindus & Muslims lived harmoniously centuries

Well they tried Sufism but it didnt register much. If you propose that new age Islam like "Protestant" Islam start here, it would require a huge change which I dont think anyone in the subcontinent can take up.

Well said. However, there are many hurdles to take the lead to solve the problem. India has to concentrate on its own poverty issues first.

is wrong."Where that mentality is abound people can be prepared to die". It is the Jehadi mentality that creates suicide bombers . According to ur logic India should also produce many many suicide bombers since we are poor country ... Anyway Pak has become the Worlds Largest Exporter of Terrorist ...
