If you carefully observe tamilnadu politics, LTTE is often found only in the mouth of the politicians. Open support to militant tamil groups were extended by centre and major political parties like ADMK and DMK , till Rajiv's death. After that , the Centre, ADMK and DMK did not support militant groups openly and directly. Minor political players like MDMK, PMK, VC etc support militant groups openly , but their support is also only orally and they donot show any thing really in action. And these minor political parties are allies of DMK and ADMK , thereby it is also balanced. A section of the people in coastline directly help the militant groups , not for any ideology etc, but only as business. They are paid huge sums in return fo diesel, medicines etc.
Poor srilankan tamil civilians are the real sufferer as they are sandwitched between the tamil militants and the srilankan army.

There are lots of tamil people living in Tamil areas under the control of Lankan Military. They are being harassed,killed, raped.Lankan military is wiping out all the tamils and they are settling sinhalese in their capture tamil territories.
If LTTE wouldnt be there, tamils would have been wiped out long back and all the tamil territories would have been renamed to sinhalese long back.
Do you know Srilankan govt started genocide 60 years back. But for the first 30 years every tamilian struggled in a ghandhian way,but lankan govt killed all these political leaders thus it gave room to young tamilians taking guns to protect their near and dears. Just because of the genocode activities of srilankan govt LTTE arose.Do remember that.
Tamilandu politician dont have any relevance here. What do the tamilnadu politicians know abt Tamil struggle in TAMIL ELLAM ?- Can you explain here.
