I accepted everything he said until he said: "These days, the United States puts the IITs on par with, say the MIT" which made me realize how ignorant he really is. Ofcourse IITs are good. Every one in the academia and the industry know that it is only up to the under grad level. When it comes to research and overall quality as educational institutes they are not even among the top 300 in the world. I ask a simple question: if IITs are so good, then why do IITians go to the US for a PhD, why do they want to become professors in the US and not in IITs. Of course there is the money aspect.....yet if their quality was really like that of MIT it would not have mattered to a lot of people
