Yeah, Communist revolution helped wash away the old kigndoms, only that they replaced it with something even more malevolent, brutal and oppressive- the dictatorship of the politburo and cult of personality, starting with Lenin, Stalin, Mao to Castro, Pol Pot..et al. And anyone willing to guess how many millions of their own proletariat these scumbag Commies butchered and dehumanized in their 'liberating' concentration-slave camps? Try this for size- during that criminal Stalin's reign of terror, over 50 million people were murdered outright or died in inhuman conditions in his Gulags. Ditto for Moa, in whose reign of terror- his 'Cultural rvelotion', over thirty(30) million Chinese were butcherd or died in 're-education' concentration camps. And don't forget the great Cambodian Communist 'liberator' Pol Pot, who liberated millions from the misery of this life on this miserable earth- yes, this villain, this butchering mass-murderer, he too committed mass-murder on an inhuman scale. This Sahadevan SS creep could go eat dung and then throw himself into the nearest cesspool where he and his criminal Commie pals well and truly belong.

Those who blindly hate the "commies" are ignorant of history. Had it not been for the Communists, the entire world might have been swallowed by the Imperialists and the religious fantics (Chruches and Islamic theorcracies) long back.
Of course there were failures but they are more of the nature of "collateral damages" theory of the American President.
Communism as an ideology still remains valid (from each according to his ability and to each according to his needs). The sort of atrocities you have mentioned is Lord Acton's Maxim in operation (Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely). A mixture of communism and capitalism is the only solution for this problem.

You call the Soviet murder machine of Stalin that killed millions upon millions and sent as many to the Gulags, failures???
Do you call the murder of millions more by Mao failures?? What about Pol Pot???
Communism as it stand encourages the worst sloth in the individual and it at the same time makes him/her completely subservient to the state. And by state I mean Russia and China! Indian communists have extra national loyalties as well which is another reason why they are such a failure.

You will remember only the "commies". The occupational forces of West Pakistan had killed 30 lakh civilians in East Pakistan (now Bengladesh) during 1971. Search for "Regrets for 1971" to read an artilce by Bengladeshi journalist Haroon Habib. Recently Saddam Hussein and Chemical Ali had killed nearly 2 lakh khurds using even helicopter gun-ships. Not to speak of futile wars fought by US in Vietnam, Iraq, etc!

Okay, so others have killed (not as many as the communists or Hitler!). But what makes the communists special?? At least the others are seen as dangers to be resisted and destroyed but the commies go around with halos showing themselves to be some kind of angels out to help poor people (disastrous in W Bengal on that count too) and that they are 'progressive'. Indian communists are sheep in wolf's clothing because they do not have India's interests in mind. At least the communists and the Russians are nationalists.
