slap in the face for indian congress which told so far that international law will supersede US law.

These people couldnt insert a single line saying that this deal is not tied to US law, which china was able to do in their deal with the US. So India couldnt negotiate something which the chinese got without a problem.

Manmohan things that he is doing a great thing by lying to the country

ha ha ha india made slaves again by the west. must be part of sonia gandhis plan.

You want to believe what you want and have not real understanding of what is happening.
Don't you think US folks from opposition party(Berman is a democrat whereas Bush is Republican) would like to delay this deal?

Also, this opposition by some US politicians is clearly proving that whatever MMS had said was correct. There is no tie-up mentioned between NSG waiver and US law!

Here is something more Berman had to say:
"
Meanwhile other countries might rush in to take advantage of a more lenient NSG waiver and do business with India on their own terms," Berman warned.

"This would give other countries an unacceptable head-start in securing commercial nuclear contracts with the Indian Government, thus placing U.S. firms at a competitive disadvantage," Berman wrote to Rice.

Why do you think the US officials want to study this more carefully and take more time for this... and not vote in haste? Because domestic laws are domestic... Are you really senile enough to believe that some stupid law in the US is going to supersede an international agreement. Well, if you do, in that case, you can create a law in India and say the US cannot use any nuclear energy. You think that will work? Why would the US honour an Indian law and why should India honour a US law? Are you really that clever to not understand this?

You guys want to believe everything a white man will say and take it for granted. Try trusting an Indian for a change. You will see wonders in our country.

CatchTwentyThree :-)

You are really naive to think India can make domestic laws that can prevail... :-)

You will no doubt believe what a Congress man says and take it for granted... :-) And ignore everything else... for instance the clear cut proclamation from US (read the story above if you don't believe me) that THEIR DOMESTIC LAWS WILL PREVAIL...

:-) So long...Adieu
