The amazing thing is Manmohan Singh, Chidambaram and Pranab Mukherjee continue to lie to the country about this. And, nobody asks them for an explanation.

Why do you think the US officials want to study this more carefully and take more time for this... and not vote in haste? Because domestic laws are domestic... Are you really senile enough to believe that some stupid law in the US is going to supersede an international agreement. Well, if you do, in that case, you can create a law in India and say the US cannot use any nuclear energy. You think that will work? Why would the US honour an Indian law and why should India honour a US law? Are you really that clever to not understand this?
This is a diplomatic dance that you got to tune to your music and not the other way around. I am not even sure, you will "get" what I am saying. The US is opening its doors to us... and though there is reason to be suspicious of their intentions, what is on paper cannot be refuted.
This IS good. If educated people like you cant see that, god save India.

US law affects US stance vis a vis India. Thus the Hyde act can restrict US from supplying nuclear fuel to India. In fact, it may even be used by congress to push US foreign policy in the direction of isolating India interms of nuclear fuel access.
Whats important is the stance taken by other suppliers with a more independent foreign policy. E.g. France, Russia, etc. If they are locked into lucrative supply and nuclear power plant construction projects, they might be inclined to continue providing fuel even if India tests a weapon.
So I don't completely agree with your simplistic view of things.
