Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari do not seem to be the right persons to lead Pakistan in the present times, for the foll. reasons :
1. They will be reluctant to use a heavy hand to curb the militants and right wing fundamentalists due to their vote bank politics.
2. Integrity for the cause of welfare of the nation of both these gentlemen has been doubtful. They would be more occupied with saving their seats.
3. Both, especially Asif Zardari has been in corruption related controversies and has a dubious background. Benazir had to go on backfoot in Public life several times due to her husband's misdemeanours.
3. Controlling Pakistan with its present day problems (mainly religious fundamentalism and corruption) does not seem possible with these two people. Coalition too will be short lived as it will be a marriage of convenience by two selfish mean opportunists.
Whereas Gen. Musharraf, despite all the pressures and limitations, has maintained cool and kept Pakistan in control. His statements on (against) terrorism and fundamentalism given here and there expresses his good intentions for Pakistan. He is an Army man and seems to be a no-nonsense person. I wish and hope he holds on to the power and does not give in to the songs of democracy by corrupt people. What Pak needs now is stability and progress, whether it comes by democracy or under military rule does not matter. So please hold on Gen. Musharraf.
