IAEA pact
by hari seldon on Aug 05, 2008 07:28 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

We wont get a clean agreement ... this deal is being pushed by the US for its commercial interest and supported by the NSG since this is a back-door into NPT for India. Ofcourse lets not forget that all R&D on thorium as a source of nuclear fuel will die (India has thorium a plenty)!!!!!

yes, but india does not have brains to come up with the technology to use it. accept the fact.

if we r being technologically humiliated by US and rest, we deserve it.

after all, rn't we more concerned with price of onions and potatoes, than govt grant for research institutes ??

You are complete idiot to suggest that India's thorium reactor research will be impacted. Google for "Agreeing to permanent IAEA safeguards is on the basis of permanent fuel supplies: Kakodkar" and read the article in the Hindu newspaper. You'll know what the "father of India's thorium powered plants" has to say on the topic.
