DMK guys are the most opportunitic and tactful ones and they have been ensuring that for the last 10 years have enjoying the fruit of power in the centre by being an ally with NDA and then with UPA. These guys are holding the key portfolios and have been amassing huge wealth in the name of Development. This has been coming out in clear terms, the recent one being the Balu controversy of involving PMO for their business ventures. This Sethusamudram project is an eyewash and in the name of development, thousands of crores of rupees will be amassed by the sister concerns of Balu & party and other DMK guys by way of dredging maintenance/operations, etc. These people have also prevailed upon on the premium consultancy companies to give reports in favour of the project, whereas many technical experts and critics have come out with the fact that this project is totally an uneconomical one and even technically faulty as even after the dredging of the canal VLCs and VLCCs cannot use the route. Techno/Economic viability criteria of the project has been totally compromised for the sake of economic prosperity of DMK and i.e., why the CM and the DMK brass are fighting tooth & nail in the public and creating all sorts of problems by making mockery and kindling the religious sentiments of the majority in the nation. Supreme Court should realise the ground realities involved in the project and send a strong signal by scapping the project or for a realignment of the route.

Politcs is Baheti Ganga koi be naha sakata agar unke pas takat ho to. Either it may NDA or UPA. Now after ruling 5 years each they have well experienced with alliance henc the coming general election they will think it twice. It is my opinion. I do not know about yours.

This project was initially approved by BJP and at that time DMK was not in power and Balu was not the shipping minister. Oh., it could be that BJP prepared the looting plan and unfortunately their India Shining fail to shine. Can BJP deny that they didn't approve the route no.6 which proposes to cut the so called man made bridge.
