ISI's Pak-Afghan-Drug-Dealers Empire
by Kris iyer on Aug 01, 2008 04:14 PM   Permalink

ISI has become a copy of the feudal net work that Pakistan is familiar with. Even the West is talking about "regular ISI officers" and "renegade" ones. In other words, individual officers form their own "lineage" of followers!!

1) ISI helps the Pak. army with important information on political threats to army rule in the country. So, it has an internal role
2) ISI helps Pak army generals to share the booty that comes from drug sales out of poppies grown in Afghanistan. To them, Islam does not stand in the way of such illegal deals.
3) ISI helps in huge "money-laundering" operations for the generals and people like Huqquani and Sons. ISI has been pushing very well-made Indian currency in Rs.500 and Rs.1000 denominations, over the last ten years or so. So well made are these currency notes that Reserve Bank of India had to let them be in circulation!! They reduce their own "print-job" to account for this uninvited contribution from the ISI. So, the ISI has not made any dent in the Indian economy!!
4) ISI and Pak's foreign policy are taking away Pak's credibility year. The Economist has described Pak (On its report of the SAARC meet in Colombo) as "corrupt and rowdy"!! ISI and Pak think that farting under water will go unnoticed by everybody. But sadly for them the bubbles are are both seen and heard.
5) Once Iraq is settled the USA and EU will turn their full attention to Pakistan - a full invasion is likely.
