Pl read The Necessity of Atheism by Dr. D.M. Brooks freely available at Project Gutenberg to know some of the noble works carried out in the name of religions the world over (especially Christianity and Islam). There is graphic description of atrocities committed in the name of religion and for establishing the supremacy of "god" over humanbeings!!!!

Mr.Tathagata Mukherjee, then what is the difference between the Christian and Muslim fanatics and so-called tolerant hindus???? And of course I do not beleive that the right-wing hindu parties are the "protectors" of my religion.

Mr Avinash u have every right to be atheist . But please refrain from hurting religion sentiments of other people . Some of the worlds biggest atrocities have been commited by atheists like Communists and fascists , why be? because they have no fear , no repentance on teir deeds because they think there is no one above them .
