nothing new

enter the dragon. exit dalai lama.

china is huge, powerful, opaque, blunt and brute. even after tiananmen square, china has grown, and nobody remembers the people who were killed or imprisoned. everyone just talks of the china growth story. companies even buy products made by chinese prisoners. tibet will be overrun by the chinese. nobody will see these people again. in 20 years, tibet will exist in dharamsala, photos and some scattered diaspora around the world only.

there is nothing tibetians will be able to accomplish against china. the only thing that can work against china is itself - the growth engine collapsing under its own weight, and natural resources getting over. it is far too integrated with the global economy for an economic boycott to have any meaning. fortune 500 cos wont boycott china, and without that, china wll continue to grow, stay powerful, flex its muscle.

will china overrun india ? unlikely, as unlike the past, it depends on international companies now. at best, it may have some border skirmishes, a lightning strike inside dharamsala , etc but not a full scale fight with india. if it did fight india, then we will lose. but despite that, it wont as there is a larger economic impact of such a fight, and its proxy pakistan is doing the fighting for them. something like contract labourers.
