Problem is with Indian mentality
by Raavan on Apr 29, 2008 10:36 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

As with most parts of India, women are not respected. Male child is given higher preference than a girl, boys are given better food, then better opportunities and the list is endless. Woman in India is not respected as an individual -- she is only a possession. North India is well known for harboring such a bias. Violence against women , be it rape or wife-beating, wife-burning etc. is a direct consequence of a long list of inequality against women.

Making laws stricter is not enough. We need better enforcement and most of all, Indian males need to learn to respect women. India can never dream of being a developed country until 50% of our population participates without fear in the growth story that is India. No country has developed to become a superpower without participation of its womenfolk

Wrong! It is not mentality!

Male children are preffered in China too but the Chinese men don't go about violating Chinese females because of it!

The problem is created by Punjabi Piggies!

Delhi is filled with first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth generation of punjabi refugees from porkiland!

These type of crimes are typical of porkiland!

They are occurring in India because of these Punjabis with porki blood in their veins!

So stop blaming things like mentality and blame the real offenders - punjabi piggies!!

Xourav GanguLee, you are just using intermperate language. What has it got to do with Punjabis? Why do you hate the Punjabis so much? They are brave men who work hard. You can see a large number of Punjabis in the armed forces also.

Anyway there is difference in the blood or Punjabis or any one else (there are only four blood groups - A, B, AB and O with RH postive of negative (of course there is one rare oneknown as "Bombay group" - this is indeed a blood group - not some abuse)

Xourav GanguLee, I am not a Punjabi but I know for sure that the Punjabis are large hearted and brave people. I do not see people thru the prisom of caste, creed, colour, religion or region. I beleive in neo-humanism. You are just generalizing based on some preconceived notion.

Why this should happen in any society? After all it is a woman who gave birth and nourished to the men.

An old Tamil song roughly translates to "every child is good at birth, but it the way he is brought up by his mother that makes him good or bad" (entha kuzhanthayum nalla kuzhantha than mannil pirakkayile, avan nallavankathum theeyavanakathum annai valarthayile). So part of the blame naturally gets transferred to the woemn also. Instead of asking or giving "streedhanam, treat stree herself as the "dhanam". Ask the dowry seeker to get lost! (I will not give my daughter in marriage to a dowry seeker - let us all take such a stand)

Dowry seekers should be burned alive, just like they do to the bride who do4s not bring in enough or no Dowry.
Few of them burned others will soon get the message.
Or at the minimum do like they do in Punjab, beat the hell out of them when the barat arrives.
