A sure failure
by Vishvaksenah E on Apr 29, 2008 01:15 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

During the last elections, few graduates from various IITs got together and contested elections in different constituencies. They sure did get few votes......but later on the movement fizzled away.
With all due respects to their intelligence in scoring good marks and getting degrees from prestigious institutions, social / public work is totally a different ball game.
You cant expect Viswanathan Anand to shine in T20 , just as Dhoni will come out a cropper in front of a chess-board.

If Sri Ravi Krishna Reddy wants to make some difference , then his role model should be persons like Dr.Jayaprakash Narayan, who quit his IAS posting and has taken to social service.
This kind of observing 3-day fast is a cheap gimmick and attracts nothing but laughter.

I beg to disagree. Ravi Krishna has foll choices- 1) Cultivate a God father in politics, pay sums of money, promise bribes in lieu of etc. etc.
2) Cultivate a base (say among professional, intellectuals) by cost effective advertising and PR'ship. He will have to generate funds online ala Obama style but which he can't do unless he awaken's the people's consciousness or more appropriately the "fear of goonda politicans mortgaging our country and children's future to vested interests in US, Italy or competing neighbors like CHina".
3) Start small and build up on small successes. Build name recognition SLOWLY and STEADILY. Take up issues which stir people like a red rag to a bull. Network with media; Network and start a party and invite membership; publish manifesto. Population control is something that bothers me no end. I am sure it bothers a lot others. Lack of Primary education and substandard municipal schools and teachers (graduates with 33% marks can become teachers) and bogus college eductaion (BED degrees are handed without real learning) are other issues that's keeping this country's millions of children devoid of education and future. These are issues no political leader is taking up because there is no money involved. THIS IS AN OPENING! YOU NEED peoples SUPPORT NOT goonda LEADERS SUPPORT. Once they see this KRISHNA getting public support, they will all line up behind him. Krishna can then play them.
