It is wrong to compare language with animals and birds.

Democracy is the rule of the majority of the people, whatever language they may speak. People in most of India, i.e. except South, understand Hindi. As regards quality of language, all languages hv their own shortcomings. English is probably the worst, as regards pronounciation, though it is the most powerful in the world, due to historical reasons (colonialism). Faults can b found in Hindi (gender related problem), Bengali (I know Bengali very well, it is a sweet language, but it also has pronounciation problem - like earlier Kolkata was written in Bengali as Kalikata, Kajal is spoken as Kajol), Tamil (which has very few consonants, hence Geeta becomes Geetha), Gurumukhi (no half letter, hence Indra becomes Inder) etc.
