Is India always looking for more enemies?
by Ahmad Nawaz on Apr 29, 2008 03:11 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Indian Hindus, especially the ones living abroad, are delusional to think that USA, UK and Israel will make India their permanent friend or ally and there will be peace thereafter. There are no friends in the dirty game of politics there are only USERS. And don't you guys feel it is a bit sad that out of those nations that India shares a border with it hasn't made a single friend. The list is neverending, Pakistan, China, Bagladesh, Sri Lanka, Burma and Bhutan. None of these countries are friends of India. Also, say if tomorrow some military power, most likley China attacks India full force, who do you think will physically come to India's aid. I am not talking about the run of the mill condemnations issued by UN and every country. I am talking about an actual military involvement. The answer my friends is NONE. They say that for every enemy you create you should create two friends. But unfortunatley for India's foreign policy or lack of it it has done nothing of the sort. India currently is about Muslim hatred. That seems to be the obsession and ignorance ofthe day in this country. And just to prove that I want you to take a look at the responses to my post by Hindu fanatics and Muslim Haters who will talk ad nauseum about the Mughal rule and Muslim intolerance. It is all too SAD! India is a deeply religously divided country and Pakistan and other enemies love to take advantage of that fact. I am no fan of Pakistan but what does an Indian Muslim think when they hear slogans

I fully agree with you that USA will not support us. USA never supports any country IDEOLOGICALLY. It only supports in a narrow SELF INTERST perspective. Isreal is really in no position to offer any support to India, because it is not a global power. Nations operate on a GEO-POLITICAL STRATEGIC perspective. Individuals, on the other hand, express their opinions on an IDEOLOGICAL plane.

That's the reason you find Muslim haters. They hate for the reason that Muslims (no matter how educated they are) defend atrocities committed in the name of Religion, and do not come out in the open criticising terrorism. I have a number of Muslim friends, but I have never heard them criticising suicide bombers who kill innocent citizens, they always have a 'BECAUSE.....' clause in their arguments.

If some Hindu fanatic or religious leader proposes VIOLENT BEHAVIOUR, I will immediate reject it. RELIGION IS NOT IMPORTANT FOR ME ABOVE THE HUMAN LIFE. NO IFS. NO BUTS.

Nobody can make anybody feel LOVE for others. Love or Hate comes naturally from the heart. Individual behaviour is natural, whereas NATIONS' behaviour is contrived and always POLITICALLY EXPEDIENT.

This is not an issue of religion but of internaional politics. I simply don't understand why some people have to pick up the issue of religion in any topic, and try to stress too much that India is about Muslim hatred. If it was so, then none of the Muslims would have been living in this country just like Pakistan drove off or is trying to do so with other people in that nation.
This, I feel is totally foolish response to an issue which discusses about existence of India in the international scenario. Why include words in response as Hindu fanatics and Muslim haters??? Is anyone of our PM or Iran's president anything of the two - Hindu fanatics and Muslim haters???
This shows your narrow mentality or fanaticism of trying to stress and impose again and again that you are oppressed in this country, which leads to more hatred towards Hindus and the country as a whole. In that case, please leave this country. Already we are divided so much, don't fuel more problems. If you are really true Indian at heart, you will never think as Hindu, Muslim, etc etc. You will always think as an Indian. Be Indian first.

Isreal/Palestine issue is essentially CLOUDED BY RELIGION. YOU GUYS HATE THE JEWS ever since your Prophet's time. DON'T DENY IT. IT IS SO MUCH IN THE HISTORY OF ISLAM EVEN BEFORE MODERN political issue between Isreal and Palestine.

Right, there are no friends just people acting where interests are aligned ... India must therefore align its interests with other countries as the need arises ... that's what diplomacy is all about. We don't want to make enemies, we want to be paly-paly with everyone.

India is not friendly to USA and UK not for the reason it will be made an ally or that it will be supported by them if China attacked India. India is second most populous country in the world and it should take care of it's own security. Apne haath Jagannath!

India's miiddle class is english speaking or knowing, secular and has similar diversity as that of USA in ethnicity. The migrants to the USA came from England,Ireland, Germany, Spain, Italy,Poland, Russia and several other European besides african countries. similarly India had already 12 major language speaking people besides several other languages.

The ethnic composition is more or as diverse as that of USA and UK. we led by example very much earlier than the multi ethnic, linguistic, religious Europian community even before it was conceived and made a reality. There are other factors besides the above that can make nations friendly besides religion and common ehtnicity.

Indians were cultivating USA even when Pakistan was a member of SEATO, CENTO, Baghdad pacts led by USA and Nato nations and it diverted and used the arms and aircraft supplied to it against India. It is not muslim hatred but secular, rational, liberal and democratic attitude that draws India and the USA/European community together.
