power in karnataka
by Hemant Naik on Apr 25, 2008 04:08 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

hi all,
I am from uttara kannada district of karnataka state. This is the district from where the power for whole karnataka is generated. people call jog falls belongs to shimogga district. yes only to get the benefit and not for disaster. teh river belongs to karwar district and the Linganamakki dam has distroyed most part of the district. also there is Kaiga in the state. so most of power is generated from this district. but the power generated by distroying the parts of this district is used in Bangalore which is enjoying all the benefits. On the other hand we people by loosing our land, houses, beloveds are in darkness. this is the state of my people. Why should we support the people (the electricity board) which is only using our product for getting money for themselves (by supply it to only bangalore)? Karnataka is not only bangalore. it seems these electricity board know only bangalore.

Get your facts right man! Linganamakki project is in Shimoga and the whole taluk of Hosnagar is submerged in Linganamakki backwaters. Jog falls is in Uttara Kannada!
