Tibet the word suggests that it belongs to Tibetans! So what are chinese doing in Tibet?? How can Tibet belong to China? There were hardly any Chinese in Tibet before 1950.
After that came the guns, tanks and army which invaded tibet for its vast natural resources. Tibet has huge reserves of minerals, gold, and guess what lots and lots of uranium. It is also military and strategically important place in the world being the highest place.
The Chinese presence in Tibet no doubt scares the shit out of neihbouring countries like India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bhutan. These countries including India dare not anger China, so they are always trying to appease China.
China may give up China but it will never give up Tibet, because it is the lifeline of rich and powerful communist leaders. More than Tibet's need of China, it is China which needs Tibet.
