I recently visited Chennai for a couple of days after a gap of two years. The city is comparatively clean to Bangalore and all the major and pheripheral roads are asphalted and kept in good condition. The medians are approx. 3feet concreted, Brightly illuminated with lined street lights glowing, Traffic signals installed at many crossings, police officers of the rank of Inspectors are around every signal during peak hours (standing on centre of the road)and above all, motorist have disciplined driving and rarely you can see signal jumping even by a cyclist. These are in addition to the ever efficient road transport. If not for the heat and drainage (faulty) system, this city is definitely the best city in India next to Ahmedabad and Ludhiana. I bet no party which comes to power can take the challenge to make Bangalore as Singapore. Let them take a leaf out of the cities mentioned above and live up to the expectations of the tax payers.

I suggest our city planners make a quick visit to our neighboring state Chennai and see for themselves the city. If need be, I am prepared to sponsor them as long as it is going to benefit my adopted city, Bangalore.
