Rama is considered an Avatar of Vishnu. He is also thought to be an ideal man of that time, someone who even now is worthy of emulation (truth, courage, virtue etc). The historicity of his life should not be of much concern. As for the bridge, there are more important concerns such as environmental etc that have not even been addressed by this excuse for a Govt.

BJP will ban Biology,Physics and Chemistry.. since fire doesn't burn people, if stone floats on water... if human can fly without wings... and this subjects teaching is un-hindu!!!

Rama's selfless service attitude, going to the forest to keep his father's word, lakshman following as an ideal brother, hanuman - an ideal follower ...
then rama's role as an ideal king, even in warfare he respected todays' modern protocols of chivalry ...
finally the sacrifice of sita to leave the palace to protect the dignity of the throne even when she was pregnant, so that the throne remained above preceived blemish
