I would like to raise certain issues regarding the reservation through those, who are opposing the policy of reservation. Just turn down the today's Times of India. A guy belonging to dalit caste has been killed in punjab, the sole reason behind such barbaric act was following. He dared to love a girl belonging to upper caste, the parents of the girl killed him. If we are living in the society, where you are saying social equality exists. The unequality among our society is backed upper caste people. Those who boast of living in 20th century even following such kind of discriminations. If you really wanna get red of this illness then remove the caste system first from our life. Remove it totally including your marriage. While a guy/girl of the so called upper caste go for the marriage then they never see their attitudes. Remove the caste system from the entire society. So none of us will be known through our caste.

I could not agree with you more ! After 60 years of reservation nothing really has happened on ground zero . We can boast that we had a SC President , we have a SC CJ and we have a dalit CM ruling over the most populous state in India . That is good for solace but on the ground the SC and the ST is considered as children of a lesser God ! Let us before its too late ensure that the caste system is wiped out . But let us not for a even a momment expect the politicians to do this ! The are the ultimate benificiaries of the wretched caste system and the captive vote-banks it provides .

A kid of family belonging to lower caste has been killed just because of loving a girl belonging to upper caste. You are talking of social eqality, useless. If you have lost your brother in such kind of act then surely you could have easily understand the drawback of this caste system, which generates the demand of reservation. None of us got wisdom through the birth. Put the newly born kid of SC family in any upper caste, he will come in main stream. On the same hand put any upper caste kid in any dalit family, he will turn with same mindset and capability like other SC/ST kid. It's society that is responsible for such kind of difference between upper caste, lower caste etc. So if you really wanna get red of this problem then remove your sir name, let's all be indian. I am sure there won't be any need of any kind of reservation then.

Shalu, I completely agree with you that the cast system should be wiped out from India. However, I am 100% against the reservation on the basis of Cast. Govt. should strengthen the primary education and give a lot of financial support to the economically backward people but not reserve seats for them.

Caste system is an integral part of Hinduism, without it we cannot maintain the superiority of one caste over the other. Brahmins rule!

Then why are you feeling sad over the reservation policy. We are not saying you to leave the caste system, if you wanna maintain your superiority. However in such condition, you me and others have to bear the reservation also. As the reservation is the caste based policy. Remove the caste system if you wanna get red of the reservation.

I against formal reservation for OBCs and not against the informal reservations enjoyed by Brahmins for the last 2000 years. Information reservations will continue wherever possible.

Maybe you are not aware of it but you have yourself proved that reservation doesnot achieve the objective of removing the stigma that SC/ST suffer from ! Do you think that if the Dalit boy that was killed would have been more acceptable to the parents of the 'upper caste' girls family if he had graduated from IIM ? I dont think so !

If you agree that this society can never accept the peoples of those groups in main stream. Then there is no need of opposing the reservation policy, as that is always needed for the wellfair of those, who are suffering because of social unequality.
