India is democracy....and NOT 'meritocracy' like Singapore.

Hence it is imperative to appreciate 'cultural' aka 'caste' diversity in all temples in India.

Government of India should implement 'reservations' in all Indian temples as per the 'caste' census in India.

1. 52% of all temple staff including Pujaris/Priests should be from OBC communities.
2. 29% temple staff including Pujaris/Priests should be from Dalits and Tribals.
3. Remaining all temple staff including Pujaris/Priests should be from other castes.

I think 29% of the OBCs should be forced to marry Dalits.

That will teach us a lesson about how exactly the OBCs feel about the Dalits.

Try putting a Dali priest at the Mariamman Temple near Trichy and watch the riots by the OBCs.

In the 1880s, the Thevars applied to the courts seeking admission to the Meenakshi Temple in Madurai. The High Court in Madras observed that the Thevars have their own temples in their villages to which they deny admission to Dalits and so they have no right to seek entry into the Meenakshi Temple.

After 1937, the Meenakshi Temple is open to everyone, including Dalits but the temples of Thevars are still not open to Dalits!
