Equal opportunity for all
by Chiran Kunder on Apr 12, 2008 08:34 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

One thing that is common to both pro and anti reservationists is that they are both well organised and have strong points of view. Whai is required that instead of dividing the country by caste, the emphasis has to be on implementation of education for all and to create a level playing field for students of this country to compete as equals. Rather than the emphasis on caste, make the schools and colleges and parents accountable ( legally and morally) for their wards. Parents must be especially empowered in rural areas in the school affairs. The focus of the HRD ministry schould be on quality of education and its delivery to all. Only these steps will improve the rural-urban and forward-backward dilemna we find ourselves in.

will they become very good ?

why are you calling a criminal "poor"? just because a thief studies day and night doesn't mean he should go unpunished!
