Olympics in China indeed is for those developping countries, especially for those Asia and Africa developping countries. Touch relay is an example. It passes more Asian and African countries than Europe and North american countries even these western countries can get more medals in Olympics. Why? Look at India and Pak. You two countries rarely get any medals in the Olympics but Chinese delibetely chose your two countries as touch relay routs because your two countries represent a large undeveloped population. The West always want to get China because China does not adopt western system but their own way of life. The west feel uncomfortable about China's developemt and became more powerful. They want China, and I think even India, to be always weak so they can exploit them. Time has changed but the colonism has never changed or disappeared. Yes, China is still one party system but this is not the only reason that the west hate China. In the deep down, the white western do not like colored people to dominate the world. My India friends, look around you, all colored people in this world are poor (Korea and Japan are still be colonised by USA and they do not have independent foriegn policy. They are too samll to dominate world). I feel sad that a lot of Indian do not trust China or Chinese. I can tell you that Chinese do not hate Indian. All the borders issues are British' faults (Colonist's strategy - divide & conquer). The two biggest countries can solve this problem.

David, your message is appreciated. But please realize that there is serious problem bet India and China which makes it difficult for us to believe that China is a real friend. China attacked India in 1961 at the height of our friendship. Our PM Nehru deeply believed that China was a friend and immediately accepted Tibet as part of China and also asked that the UN permanent seat be given to China. No matter if the land disputes between India and China are a creation of the west, the fact is that China was willing to attack us and "teach a lesson" as Mao said.
The media in India is free and so Indians can get all this info. So how do you expect us to accpet China so easily. Even now you can see that it tries to bully us over the border issue, has armed Pakistan with nuclear and other weapons against India. China is even armng Bangladesh against India.
So if China wants India to believe it and be a friend it must behave like a friend.

India should also act responsibly and not support a separatist movement in their country ... whether china is a friend or not, out govt. should do the right thing
