Reservation NOT the solution. Personal Story.
by imran patel on Apr 10, 2008 11:36 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

People who ask/demand resrervations are insulting the people for whom they are asking these quotas.

Indirectly they are accepting defeat anf telling that we cannot compete.

I was born in a low middle class Muslim Family. My parents worked hard and made sure education for their 3 sons was their TOP priority.

We all graduated well...finsihed our BE (All from govt colleges and OPEN seats)...Then went on to finsh our Masters.

We were economically poor growing up. But we did not need reservations to get ahead in life.

It was our parents hard work, right priorities, prayers and god's blessing.

Reservation weakens a community and makes it handicap.

Zimbabwe is a perfect example when government tries to enforce "Social Justice".

Hard work and right priorities will uplift the deprived. Not reservations. Its been 2-3 generations since we got independence. Has the Reservation policy made a difference.

Doing the same thing and expecting a different result is called INSANITY. That is what the reservation policy is. INSANE.

FREE Markets and INDIVIDUAL CHARITY is the key to have a prosperous society.

A Cradle-Grave Nany state where Government is considered to be the BOSS/KING/SUSTAINER is a recepie for DISASTER.

What do you know about Zimbabwe?? only what you read in Western media. This guy Robert Mugabe tried to distribute land among poor. In Zimbabwe, 1% white population control 95 % of arable land. Mr. Mugabe tried to distribute this land equally among black. Britain and other western countries got pissed off. They put saction on Zimbabwe, then their economy failed. Price rised to 1000 % . Now imporvised Zimbabweian has no option but to vote Mugabwe out of power. Wester way of changing regimes, put saction. Collective punishment for no crime of their own.

Who gave him the right to distribute land ?

Why don't we just pay everyone the same salary irrespective of their work ?

Why don't we just make it a LAW to have only 1 child ?

Why don;t we put a restriction on much people eat ?

THIS IS COMMUNISM !!!

I guess there is confusion between reservations for minorities. Being a minority is not a reason to get any reservation, but if a particular community , like a tribal group is backward due to geo-social reasons then they definitely qualifies for a government program

Pareen,
keep the Pipe away.

The reason people are economically backward are because of FAILED government policies.

How can they/you expect the same government to improve their situation.

Government is not the solution. It is the problem.
