What a rubbish comment. You are trying to supress the reservation or adding fuel for the reservation. Who said you that talent comes from caste, i can give you thousands of examples, where the peoples are benifited through thus reservation generated technicians and doctors. Don't add mindless comments.

you mean the "merit" which is a result of systematic denial of opportunity to others over the period of 2000 years?

Ok , let us check the merits of your comments.
You mentioned systematic denial of opportunity for over 2000 years. But are you getting denied opportunity now ? If yes , then i believe you should be supported for upliftment. If No , then you shouldnt be.
The prime reason being the things done many years ago like British colonisation, Caste System, Invasion by Muslims into India etc , any particular community, caste or religion now cannot be put reposible for those actions. They situation at that time were totally different from now.
You cannot ask Britishers compensation for the colonisation nor the muslims for ruling us for a few centuries .. Hence the question for compensation for caste inequality in the past should not arise.
The second case is now when you dont get opportunities . This is very much possible as a lot of people in india do not get those opportunities. But i beg to differ in the sense that you dont get these due to your caste but because of your economic conditions. Therefore economic creteria should be the sole criteria for reservation if any ..

No I am not denied the opportunity to compete, but the fact that my ancestors were denied such opportunities means that the evolution of my genes haven't kept pace with yours. So when we compete, you have an unfair genetic advantage over me. Only a bit of push for me or a penalty for you can make the race truly of equals. This is what reservation is trying to achieve. I am sorry we cannot wish away what happened in our lives over the last 2000 years. We cannot go after the British or the Muslim invaders because we can seek justice from our fellow brothers, right?
