All politicians/political parties will welcome 27 % reservation for "OBC" as this related to " VOTE BANK POLITICS".All of them will take credit for this.They know that VOTE is more PRECIOUS than conscience.I feel that reservation should be on "ECONOMIC CRITERIA".What will happen to millions of so called "upper caste" people who are far below the "POVERTY LINE" and some them may be meritorios,but are 'EBC"(ECONOMICALLY BACKWARD CLASS).Let us not divide this country on caste/lingustic basis for SAKE OF VOTES.LET THINGS WHICH ARE GOOD FOR ALL PREVAIL, IE RESERVATION FOR"EBC"

Reservation is intended to bring equality in society by helping the backward caste people who were illtreated because of the caste systme prevailed in our country. It is not possible to include poor upper caste people in this. BECAUSE..Even a poor Brahmin caste person thinks he is superior to Dalit. Will a poor Brahmin eat in a Dalits house in North india? then why should he be given any privelege??

for caste to disappear, reservation is a tool friend. many intercaste marriages happen bcause people hv started to weigh economics more than sociology. continue reservation for more years, caste system will slowly wane away and finally no need for reservation. wait and support the process till then.

Most of the doctors, lawyers and shop owners who make a lot but don't pay any income tax will all qualify for the EBC while salaried middle class will be left out. There should be no reservation at all.
