Epitomised the motto of his school, St. Paul's Darjeeling; "Moniti Meliora Sequamur" which means 'Having been advised/ instructed/ taught, to aspire for truth and the meaningful' Kabir Mustafi (Cl '70).

Monty was a friend of my dad's from his days in Assam, where my dad had interests in tea. I was priviledged to spend time with Monty at Dehra Dun, when he was commandant of the IMA, and fishing in the Ganges Gorge, and in Scotland, where he also loved to fish.



Monty was, in all respects a complete gentleman
