Currying favour with clerics
by Rajdeep Drohi on Apr 05, 2008 05:52 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Afghanistan is an Islamic country after all. To minimise the effect of clerics supporting Taliban, maybe the Karzai govt wants to curry favour with mullahs with these concessions like banning Indian serials. Of course its not going to help much - loyalty of Muslims should be to Islam and not to nation-states or governments. If Taliban gets the upper hand, mullahs will be only too happy go over to their side.

You are reight, Rajdeep.
We have to continue our support to Afghanistan.
Through proper education system, ignorent people of that country will come out of the clutches of the hard-liners. India has to wait for that. Hinduism doesn't demand any person's convertion into it. But one can easily understand value and importance of Hinduism in the world for peace and co-existence. Only through proper education, ideas of Hinduism can be spread out.An ignorent, illeterate society cannot digest Hinduism...We know majority of Afghan people love India and India's culture. India's culture is not derived from Middle East or from West. It's basically Hinduism. So they love and respect Hinduism indirectly.
