The Hogenakkal drinking water supply scheme is being implemented by Tamil Nadu on the basis of a No Objection certificate by the Centre.

In 1998 the Centre was ruled by BJP. DMK was its Ally. Karnataka was ruled by JD(S) who ruled Karnataka with BJP for last two years.

If BJP is concerned about this issue, why they didn't do something when they were in power. Why now - 1 - 2 months before elections?

Why did BJP as central government broker a NoC on Hogenakkal if it was a disputed terrority?
