In order to win the electoral politics, the mainstream pol. parties in TN do practise the politics of parochialism and chauvinism. They provoke the ordinary Tamilians in the name of protecting their welfare and rights. Leaders of Tamilnadu must learn to live in Federal republic like India together with friendly neighbouring states. They are more superstitious and illogical in their arguments with neighbouring states in terms of sharing of water and exploitation of natural resources. This is more than evident from their approach towards Kerala while discussing the issue of reconstruction of Mullaperiyar Dam, which is more than 110 Years old and in a dilapidated condition causing serious threat to the life and property of people of 7 districts of Kerala. The leaders like Karunanidhi are also behaving in an extremely chauvinistic manner by disrespecting the sentiments of other states and its people. The latest of the series is the water sharing dispute with Karnataka. It is also more than evident from the central allocation of funds, new projects / benefits offered to states by the union govt. Just because TN has a slender representation in the Union cabinet, they manage everything for Tamilnadu by sacrificing / denying the interests other people and states. Railway allocation is another eye opener. Tamil politicians are not hard bargainers and democratic in their behavious and perception, but they are truly stage managers! THIS DOES NOT SEEM TO BE A HEALTHY APPROACH AT ALL!

Do you know which state is going to face elections now? Do you know who has instigated this recent unrest? B.S.Yeddyurappa,who was in the chief miniaster's chair for just a week, appeared desperate to work up an emotive election-eve campaign. The key fact is that the two states reached an agreement in 1998 that they would not oppose each other's drinking water scheme. Tamilnadu withdrew its objection to the diversion of cauvery water for the Bangalore drinking water scheme on the understanding that Karnataka would not oppose the Hogenakkal drinking water scheme. This Yeddyurappa doesn't have any positive points to meet the elections. So as usual they try to instigate violence across the state to get some cheap political muleage.
