Its TN's Internal Affairs...
by harish talekar on Apr 03, 2008 01:29 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

KA is poking its nose in TN's internal affairs of its Hogenakkal project.

I don't understand why KA is bothered how TN is going to use the water after reaching the TN side!! The Kannada activists seem so ignorant to not understand the fact that even if there is no project in TN, they have to release the prescribed quantity of water as per the rule.

That is not true. This is not an issue with TN alone. It is an interstate dispute. Every time Karnataka wants to have development activities in the Cauvery Basin, TN objects. They even object to dredging to increase the storage levels. Even the water allowed for drinking purposes in Karnataka is way below what is needed.

you cant do anything for that. you must obey with the central agreed water shares. increasing your storage capasity will be definetely seen as a suspection of baseless KTAKA politicians, who plans for winning the future polls 5 years ahead by instigating the emotions between innoscent people in both sides..

I just wonder what people in karnataka know about the water crisis in TN.This project was signed wayback in 98 and both the states agreed to it mutually. When water enters, TN, what rights do these brilliant people have to protest against! Everybody knows its election time and politicians exploit the uneducated people! Its time for the people of both the states to understand the reality and act in harmony. We are not to be exploited anymore!

Mr. Sane Guru,
Hogenakkal has one shore in Karnataka's side whereas the other shore is in Tamilnadu(officially Dharmapuri district). The infrastructure relating to this project will be built on the TN's side of Hogenakkal. It is where Cauvery enters Tamilnadu. This project will never come in the way of Karnataka. Morover, this project was approved by both Karnataka and Central Government in 1998. TN agreed to Bangalore Water supply project and KN agreed to Hoge drinking water project mutually provided both states use from their allocated share. Hoge project was stopped due to various sanctions imposed on India due to Pokhran nuclear tests. I wonder why KN is opposing now.

Instad of telling them Ignorant, u can say they dont apply their mind at all. As u rightly said, what is the problem for these fellows whatever TN does with the water at their disposal. Another funny thing here is they are planning to conduct a bandh which is going to affect them & their state economy whereas TN is just not restoring to Bandh. Can anyone advise Kannadigas & their so called organisations that conducting Bandh is not going to affect TN rather Karnataka ONLY .Thank God, AIR is not visible & limited like water else kannadigas will also conduct an agitation for that too.

RSS goons' attack in Pune puts black shadows on the political carrier of PM-in-waiting. Already people found a lot of errors in his book, 'My India, My Life and My Lies.' He did not left Bhagat Singh even on Delhi conspiracy case.
