This is what is written in the articles quoted by balaord:

As Islamic civilisation spread further into southern Europe, vast treasuries of long-forgotten knowledge from conquered lands were taken back to cities like Baghdad, Damascus, Cairo and Cordoba where they were translated into Arabic.

This clearly shows that Islamic science was based upon and influenced/translated from earlier works

Let us not then give the credit to Islam alone !
THAT WOULD BE INTELLECTUAL APOSTASY
