Why reservation benefits for Lingayats and Vokkaliga ?

Even though Lingayats and Vokkaliga are econonmically well off ,why they(hd deve gowda and his family) are getting reservation benefits?

Pyare, only Vokkaligas are economically well who support Devegowda. Not Lingayats
