Delhi is certainly one of the crime capitals of the world.The frustration of sex starved males owing to traditional concepts of taboos on socialising between men and women is one of the causes of rape.There are also many other causes the chief of them is bollywood mania.Sex appears to be the main theme in bollywood's films. Hot sexy actresses dressed scantily tend to excite the young men of today's already frustrated.Prostitution offers a solution but eventually leads to aids and soiled reputation of the family.Marriage in a young age is a viable solution according to most traidtional hindu and muslim socieities but again the question of dowry is involved.Money becomes the chief question.There are thousands of young women unable to find a groom because their parents cannot afford to pay the groom .Among muslims it is actually the groom who actually pays the dowry to the bride but customs are now confused.The end result is both young men and women are getting more and sexually frustrated. To add to it there is too much of western influence in india today.Premarital sex,extra matrimonial affairs and even incest is becoming common in many households. This is why religion should be understood in the proper way and understood.Also tday's young women dress up in a very enticing way to lure the young men.But when the men approach them they cry out 'rape'.Women shuld be more responsible. your explanations for rape are entirely wrong. are you saying that men a bunch of animals who are uncivilized and cannot control their urges and will rape any woman because they are dressed scantily. besides the fact that there isnt much fear of the law and that the law keepers are frequently corrupt, blaming women for the rape is unacceptable. let the court decide the verdict after the facts are presented and if found guilty the accused should be severely dealth with as an example to people who think they are wild animals.

Finally it is all the woman's fault! What a pathetic joker you are Ahswari. Worse still you represent all those obscene men who believe women should be completely covered so as not to "entice" them, these same men go home and rape their wives,abuse their children, other the women in the house getting away with anything from rape to incest because women and kids dare not speak of it! What makes you think incest was unknown in India and has been imported? Because no one talks of it? Pedaephilia is rife in India. What a wonderful India! Where are our deep spirituality, our holy thoughts and our traditions? All these fly out of the window when it is convenient to us.
Much of what you say is true re: dowry, sexual repression, but no one forces you to go to the movies, On the one hand you talk of taboos that cause frustration, then you blame western influence. What about putting the blame on the shoulders of the male sex? Surely if the women can control themselves, men can do likewise? I don't see men getting raped by women because they go without shirts on inside and outside the house. The biggest problenm is believing that women are a disposable commodity, at the man's service. That means any man can show his disrespect and violate a woman since he has assumed this to be his right. Unless this changes, we can only keep our eyes open and report immediately all abuse and see that the men responsible are punished severely, put to hard work and publically put to shame.
