Self control
by Baburao on Sep 25, 2007 12:55 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

I am a Gandhian by nature and practice his principles to the letter in real life.
Mahatmaji never did anything or utterd any words which would hurt anybody's feeling.
In my opinion, care should have been taken by supporters of Indian team that either they should have celebrated inside their houses (no reason to show their emotions publicly)or should have appologised to the other group for hurting their sentiments.

why should an indian celeberate an indian victory "inside" his house? tomorrow mr baburao may say we should stop celeberating independence day as our progress may make our neighbour feel inferior(which anyway it is!!!). being Gandhian doesnt mean subscribing to farfetched theories of appeasement and naiviety!!

I respect ur view about gandhi ji...but have some question of mind.

U please just tell me..

Are we living in Pakistan or in Indain?............Whose country is this?......... why should we hide our feeling when the team has make us proud by beating PAK and wining the World Cup..........And those who r not happy........... or say unhappy to such a extant that the reaction has brought a challenge for LAW and ORDER.......and that%u2019s too%u2026 in the state which already facing in house terrorisms %u2026%u2026.

These people are not Indian, thus have right to stay here.....Are we not going towards yet another partition if still keep on following %u2026these Gandhies.???

Either Govt should deal the situation with a hard hand%u2026%u2026%u2026%u2026.. Else my dear country men %u2026%u2026.ready for another Pakistan%u2026

Hi Daddy, why do you degrade yourself using such a foul language? Do not forget the saying "Sticks and stones may hurt my bones but cruel words do not hurt me". Another saying is "If you say it loud it goes to air and if you say it silently it applies to you".

May be Gandhiji should have stressed on one more thing, Nationalism. People should express their feelings about their nation in public. And keep their relegious feelings confined to their homes.

Have great respect for Gandhiji, but if Gandhiji did not teach you that, learn it now.

If you would ever care to study and understand the political history of Hindustan, you will know Gandhi had hurt the sentiments of Hindus several times and was adamant in forcing his decisions on others (Hindus). If you say that we have to celebrate the happy moments of our national pride within the four walls of our homes, just because somebody who are also citizens of our nation but prefer the neibhouring country on the basis of their faith, you are in urgent need of consulting a psychiatrist before something goes wrong.

If you say your are prcticing Gandhian principles, be clear about what are those principles. Because some of his principles were most absurd and shameful. For instance, in order to test his controllling power he slept with young girls every night to the disgust og his own inmates of Ashram. WEc an only appreciate his principle of eco friendly economy, and priority to rural pert of the nation.
