dr karunanidhi and his leader periyar saved hinduism by achieving the entry of so called lower caste people into temples. they were not allowed into temples until 1940.
if it were not for leaders like periyar and karunanidhi,the lower castes would still not be allowed into temples. the entire population of lower castes would have become frustrated with hinduism and would have converted to other religions. periyar and karunanidhi gave shock treatment to hinduism and saved it.

man, if intention is to save Hinduism it is good, but I doubt that, dont put 'spin' on their anti-hindu venom and hatred.

hey,what else was achieved by allowing lower castes entry into temples. periyar and karunanidhi have saved hinduism,but the dominant classes who lost their pre eminence are still abusing him,not realising that hinduism was saved from becoming a minority religion by the revolution achieved by periyar,annadurai and karunanidhi.

so only Brahmins were blocking lower-caste entry into temples?. What about being banned from drinking water, what about being forced to live outside villages, what about being forced to work as labourers, what about two tumbler system. Everyone is responsible for oppression including Periyar's own caste, Chettiars, Nadars everyone abused and oppressed but I guess the only important point is entry into temple . Paint a community as villain and carry on with abuse. Good strategy and it is same followed by Hitler with Jews blaming them for everything wrong in Germany he he and you guys think he is a rationalist LOL

you are bang on target dude. They are the ones who saved hinduism. Just ask one northie here if they even considered madurai meenakshi amman temple or other temples of the south to be holy? never. Thats a big never.
They would go head over heals with some islamic structure like monkey mahal or some qutib dump but never our south indian temples.
