I fail to understand why this hue and cry over the comments on Lord Ram by M. Karunanidhi. Karunanidhi is over 85 years of age and at his age most people are already in their heavenly abode or counting their days. Moreover at this age poeple lose their sanity which may be the case with Karunanidhi. Lord Ram please help the people of Tamil Nadu. They don't deserve a Chief Minister like Karunanidhi who doesn't know Indian History or Mythology. Lord Ram will ensure that Karunanidhi goes to Vaikuntha when he leaves his mortal body since knowingly or unknowingly Karunanidhi is always taking Ram Naam.

if it were not for leaders like periyar and karunanidhi,the lower castes would still not be allowed into temples. the entire population of lower castes would have become frustrated with hinduism and would have converted to other religions. periyar and karunanidhi gave shock treatment to hinduism and saved it.

his comment was made necessary because rama was dragged into politics and into a court. he was voted to bring development and generate jobs. when governance and development is being stopped by faith,the chief minister performed his duty by questioning whether rama was real or imaginary. the guilty party for this whole situatio are the people who took this matter to court. see this site for details about the project.

later in redif i had also a message that Ram setu was built to save the wife of Lord Ram and from the devils. that was a beneficial work. and setusamudram is also for beneficial purpose & it should be done.

Karunanidhi has dragged religion and faith to politics much before most politicians of today. Karunanidhi used his anti-Hinduism all along for political gains for himself. They attacked a lot of superstitious beliefs that were part of ignorant, uneducated masses, who happened to be Hindus. They never dared to say anything against the same such beliefs in Islam or Christianity. If they ever did, he would have been history in a matter of few weeks. Instead, the atheist (?!) Karunanidhi will attend mosques and churches with his brethren. He has aligned with Muslim League, a religious party for most of the elections. Karunanidhi is a big coward and opportunist, who would never attack Islam or Christianity, because he wanted to be alive, and live well too. Hinduism can always be attacked, because Hindus are extremely tolerant.

u r deviating from the point. the issue is whether rama lived or not. when we believe that there existed our great great grand grand father then rama also lived. the issue is not allowing the lower castes into the temple. ask karunanidhi to marry a lower caste girl to this generation of his family. he will not do it. the question of untouchables were created by man and will be solved over a period of time(solved now).
