School of Thought 1 - Ram is a literary figure and Mythical Hero of Valmiki.

School of Thought 2 - Ram is Supreme God and Avatar of Vishnu and Vishnu is Para Bhraman.

School of Thought 3 - Ram is Ultimate Hero, God-King and Indian hero. Historical Figure.

Karunanidhi follows School of Thought 1. He needs to spologise for Hurt caused not Belief.

School of thought 2 does not consider Ram to be Supreme God, but rather King with Godly characters.
