Everything is mentioned in the sacred texts in an encoded language and only those who really and sicerely try to understand could understand this. The symbolism in the fact that Lord Shiva beheaded Ganesha's head - is that He,The Lord-Destroyer, destroyed Ganesh's ignorance. Ganesha was ignorant because He did not realise His own Father. And Lord Shiva gave Him a Rebirth after giving Him the Head of an Elephant. Elephant is symbolic of Intelligence. ANd so Lord Shiva infact gave Him (Ganesha) the Intelligence (Budhdhi) to realize ephemeral from mortal and so on. Its all encoded.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I appreciate...You answers creates tons and tons of questions....I'll ask just few though....
1. Why Ganesha was ignorant??? Wasn't he GOD? Can GOD be ignorant...Hence i dont think he was GOD...
2. Why shiva fought to Ganesha? A God has knowledge abt each and everything, so how can he can be so aggressive and can kill other GOD (did u said his SON???)
3. Ganesha was his Son??? huh...
4. Parvati took bath and she needs safety? Does GOD take bath and needs safety?? From whom???tell me...Strange !!!! dont u think so Ravi Sir..
5. Can you assign ignorant, wild attributes to GOD.. It's man thing..Rite?
