INDO-US NUKE DEAL
by Rajesh Bhagwat on Sep 24, 2007 10:11 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Granted there are certain pressures from usa to finish the nuke deal with india in a hurried manner but india need not bow down to every single whim of uncle sam. they want to set deadlines. let them. dont succumb to pressures. usa needs india to be on their side. it is quite evident from the changed stance of usa which reflects in the joint naval exercise and things which have never happened between india and usa.
all i have to say is that india should not sign BEFORE completely weighing the pros and cons and making ABSOLUTELY sure that we dont end up making unwanted compromises with our national interest as well as soverignty.

There was a whole bunch of delegates that were just doing that with the US before coming to an agreement. Nobody opened their mouth when that was going on. Probably the murderous communists were hoping that the agreement will not go through and that China will not be affected. Now that the deal has gone they start talking about pros and cons. They were in the alliance of the ruling party, so are you saying they did not weigh the pros and cons when the negotiations were going on and the document was signed. What hypocrisy is that?

don't just blame the commies. BJP could play a responsible role here and support the deal and let the commies do what they want.

I have never seen good governance in India but I like to believe that Congress has been a good opposition when it was not in power.
