its a myth....

definition of myth - 1) a traditional or legendary story, usually concerning some being or hero or event, with or without a determinable basis of fact or a natural explanation, esp. one that is concerned with deities or demigods and explains some practice, rite, or phenomenon of nature.

2) an unproved or false collective belief that is used to justify a social institution.

HEY. HOLD ON. ANCIENT TIMES DOESNOT MEAN ONLY LAST 2000 years or so. The universe is coming since ages, which spans across millions of years. The entire creation goes on in cycles from being very intelligent like everyone in the world at that time having higher level of enlightment and then moving in to ignorant levels and then again in to the enlightened stages. The cycle is divided into an Ascending Arc and a Descending Arc, each of 12,000 years. Within each Arc fall four Yugas or Ages, called Kali, Dwapara, Treta, and Satya, corresponding to the Greek ideas of Iron, Bronze, Silver, and Golden Ages.

The above is an excerpt from the "Autobiography of a Yogi" by Swami Paramahamsa Yogananda. here are acclaims for this book from all over the world - http://www.crystalclarity.com/yogananda/chap16.html

Search for the word Yuga and you will get the exact breakdown of these evolutionary cycles of life in endless cycle of divine drama.

Here is the acclaims for this book:
