the Human Condition on the planet is still epitomized by malice and sorrow as exemplified by all the wars, murders, rapes, domestic violence, corruption, sadness, depression and suicide. Malice and sorrow are the direct result of a genetically-encoded instinctual survival program located in the primitive animal brain in the human animal and that it is this ancient genetically-encoded program that gives rise to the animal instinctual passions of fear, aggression, nurture and desire that are so evident in human beings.

Hi JGN, the idea of atheism would not be appreciated by the majority of the DK/DMK cadres as they are only against "the mythical Aryans"... and hence they would continue with Shaivism while engaging in vandalism with other beliefs of the Vedic culture...
Though they may look for succour from your words, it would be only to twist it to thier selfish gains...
But as to your remarks on the human mind, our scriptures have aptly dealt with this and it is upto us to enlighten the mind...

Dear Seshadri, An enlightened mind should not harbour hatred for others, especially on the basis of Caste, creed, colour or religion. Now people have become more religious and intolerent than thinking rationally.
I was at Coimbatore for about a week during May this year. Due to some procession (festival in a Mariamman Kovil), I could not go to the travel agent's office. Even my driver told that these sort of processions started during the last ten years or so only. It is high time that we all put in our best efforts to eradicate superstitions (if somebody want to believe in god, let him keep to himself and his family only).
