CASTESIM
by Asim Mehtani on Sep 24, 2007 02:49 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

During those periods, there were no casteism. Manu had divuded the Universe into four parts as listed below :

1. Brahmin : Who use to give the Knowledge ?
2. Shatriya : Who use to do war ?
3. Vaishya : Who use to do the Business ?
4. Schudera : Who use to do the physical work
of any form ?
Men was defined by their action during those days. A person borned in Brahmin family started doing physical job, will not called Brahmin, he will be called Schudera. This was a basis practice at that time. Now a days, the whole context is changed and selfish analysiation has been given to the society by the politicians for fulfilling their selfish interest for vote bank politics only. New definations has been created.

GThere were no caste systems in the Rmayana period - if we closely look at it people were respected and revered for their knowledge and achievements only rather than any mention of the caste - e.g. Sage Valmiki was not a Brahmin but revered by Brahmins as well. Lord Rama was a Khatriya, Krishna was a Yadav, Sage Vishwamithra and Sage Vasishta, the most revered sages were the ones who educated Rama and gave him the most powerful weapons to him. The society was having four wings to carry out specific tasks : 1. Brahimns - Education, Havana etc. and carry out intellectual works.
2. Vaishyas : Cater to the demand and Supply requiremtns of the soceity - (business)
3. Kshatriyas : Provide Protection to the nation.
4. Shudras : Carry out the Physical works - labour etc. which are essential for the survival of any soceity. all the four wings needed and depeneded on each other and had mutual respects. there were no restrictions nor untouchability durint those days. the very fact that sage Vishwamithra was a King (Kshatriya) and became became a brahmin after Tapasya itself proves that brahminism was not by birth but a qualification or achievement. Later on this system must have brought about a change in the soceity which developed the ugly caste system. The present day politicians have made the best (?) use of this caste system to divide the society and (mis)rule.. And Self serving people like Karunanidhi further divided the society with Dravidian and Aryan theories...

you are right rajesh, the vedas dont preach discrimination among humans.... they are accorded honour according to their deeds...

it is the perverted minds of the selfish (like karunanidhi) who have managed to divert the masses...

Very correct. Everyone is mislead by these politician for the good of their own cause. They r never bothered about the welfare of the soceity for that an Individual has to make his own effort and it is only fools who feels that their leader is responsible for that. Anybody who follows the leader blindly is definitely a DALIT even if he belongs to upper caster by birth and vice versa.

Of course, there were some issues with hinduism, because generally low caste people didnt keep themselves clean, ate meat, these categorisations were made.. especially because such people shouldnt enter temples after they ate meat. its a very genuine thing...

even i wouldnt let a begger enter into my house if he/she was not clean...

i think over the years, such things have become castes and the new age politicians started using it to their convenience.

talking about caste and religion is useless.
GOD is in compassionate love but neither in divisive forces' ideology nor in epics and stories.
