it can be observed that some brahmins are using unbecoming language. it was earlier observed during the release of the movie periyar. can any of these people state whether any brahmin came to any physical harm during the rationalist movement. the white lies spread by these people only brings disrepute to their community. the brahminical order which was suffocating the people was dismantled by the legendary leadership of periyar. there was no acrimony against the brahmins. they are a caste like any other in tamilnadu today. the dmk has not been trying to spread atheism. these people are trying to belittle the achievements of periyar and karunanidhi by their comments. these types of comments only serve to strengthen stereotypes. it might not be easy for these people to accept that the brahmin community was under the spotlight. the type of opposition that the rationalist movement encountered can be seen by the nature of these comments.
