If not for Periyar and Anna, what was the social [position of the depressed communities. How were they treated? What access did they have to opportunities?

Here we go...
TN has history of 3000 years.
Out of them for 2800 years, OBCs only ruled.
Chera, CHola , Pandya, Pallava, Naikars , Reddiars all OBCs.
It was british who changed things. They wanted people who know english to rule.
OBC rich people were satisfied being mirasudars . Bramins were poor and they took to english since they had the habit of learning more than 1 language. That is why bramins took to bureaucracy in time of periyar. Still 90% of bramins were poor. Only 10% enjoyed power. All that changed by kamarajar period.
There was no periyar anna in Karnataka, Gujarat, AP, Orissa, MP etc, and these states, you can find only OBCs and non brahmins in power.

dont change the topic. Only Kerala has better system of social justice than Tamil Nadu. All the other states have either problems relating to Feudalism or Naxalism.
Besides, we are talking about basic stuff like education, temple entry etc. You can convince yourself that your behaviour was right.. but not the millions of oppressed people who come out to vote in elections.

What are you joking? You are talking that except TN all states are in stone age? Have you gone to karnataka? Absolutely ruled by OBCs...
As for education and temple entry, you can keep lying, but Chera/Chola/pandya all OBCs and they ruled the state. Why they could hv changed it. What about thiruvalluvar, a Dalit, he wrote a book and he never spoke about bramins, he only says god is starting of everything.
Stop your Hitlerist agenda. It wont work. There are practically no bramins in the state and most people dont even recognise it. You try against some other group instead. Give up your agenda of hate.

Karunanidhi is NOT Periyar. Next you will claim that Bush is George Washington, or that Stalin is Marx. Karunanidhi is an opportunist who has hijacked Periyar's ideas, just like Karunanidhi and your friends are hijacking names like 'atheist', 'rationalist' to pursue your communal agenda.

90% of bramins were also poor. A small minority were having powre and position. All that went away with Kamarajar itself. And remember that Anna ruled only 2 years, karuna 14. We had MGR and Jayalalitha and OBCs are ruling everything. Bramins have been eliminated. So dontt try your 97%-3% nazi trick. It wont work.
