Every body quotes him today to further divide India.
Nehru was a very very strange person.

I have studied his complex character and
am frankly baffled and irritated.

The equivalent would be the left leg of a person
constantly trying to kick the right leg while a person is engaged in walking.

Nehru's hand was the hand that wanted to rock the cradel that held India while at the same
time reaching out in earnest to smother the baby.

He was a combination of a Nationalist and a self defeating anti-Nationlist in the same body.

We Indians are truely unfortunate to have him as
our first prime-minister.

yes. nehru was a great nation builder.
he built pakistan.
he helped built POK
and he has left many more nations to be built from India, even after his death.

Our contribution was less because we were never elected before the 1990s.
Once we got elected:
a) We pursued economic reforms
b) Enabled India to become Nuclear and get recognized as a world power.
c) Re-aligned India's forerin policy to be
closer to that of the US
d) Helped sustain and promote the IT revolution
e) Implemented POTA to keep terrorism in Check.
f) Started on the National 6 lane highway concept.
g) Achieved economic growth figures of > 8%/
