Whole of India pays great honor to the armed forces...besides most of us don't even know how it operates. They work in extreme conditions and sacrifice a great deal. Over the years there have been a lot of politics within the establishment and on many occasions the defence related spying have been discovered. If army is really capable, on what account the chinese captured areas in the north east very recently. How did the infiltrators came in to Kargil, because most of them were sleeping. Lot of lives were lost because of stupid decision of army brass in the Kargil war. It also revealed how inequipped they were even in terms of proper gear to fight such a war. And remember Brigadier Singh, a well decorated soldier, how he was humiliated after he reported the activities along Kargil and border areas. He was transferred, issued notice adn even threatend for disciplinary actions regarding pension and all.
One shouldn't be surprised if the quality of services has deteriorated and most of our soldiers are frustated on the salaries.
