LEFT REJECTING 123 NUCLEAR DEAL WITH USA
by gautam shah on Sep 19, 2007 03:51 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

LEFT HAS NO UNDERSTANDING OF INTERNATIONAL POLITICS. THEY ARE FISHES IN A POND, NOT IN THE SEA. INDIA HAS TO SEE IT'S OWN INTEREST AND ALLY WITH THE WINNERS. I AM SURE THAT MANMOHAN SINGH UNDERSTANDS THE ERCONOMICS MORE THAN THE LEFT. WE SHOULD TRUST HIM. WE HOPE TO ELIMINATE THE NUSANCE VALUE OF LEFT IN THE NEXT ELECTION.

But the short title of Hye Act is
SEC. 101. SHORT TITLE.
This title may be cited as the %u2018%u2018Henry J. Hyde United States-India Peaceful Atomic Energy Cooperation Act of 2006%u2019%u2019.
A description of the steps that India is taking
to work with the United States for the conclusion of a multilateral treaty banning the production of fissile material for nuclear weapons, including a description of the
steps that the United States has taken and will take to encourage India to identify and declare a date by which India would be willing to stop production of fissile material for nuclear weapons unilaterally or pursuant to a multilateral moratorium or treaty.

Iran is a country that signed an agreement (NOT) and now going against it, If we look at that perspective our vote goes down well against Iran.
Compare this with our agreements , even after so many wars and loss of life we still continue to honor Indus water sharing treaty with Pakistan.

Even if US walks out we would still have strategic reserves that would help running the reactors, as a worst possible case we may have to return the reactors at current market prices. Which is fair.

Even after Testing a nuke, US is not going to terminate the agreement right away, it is still going to examine under what circumstances it has done so (The tests), and then only any action would be taken.

Well I think it is in our interest to go ahead with the agreement rather than get sidelined.
This may also act as a precursor for us getting sensitive space and military technology.

With sensitive space, military and nuclear technology only Pakistan and China should be worried, Communists have joined these two to destroy India from within.

You mean to say India had to vote for Iran, and support _another_ islamic country, that never supported us in any of our troubles in international fora, to become a nuclear weapon state?

If only guys remove their heads from sand they'll see that India and US are on the same side of the table, at this point in time.

very simple. Iran threatened Isreal saying they want to wipe that country from the face of the earth. When its leader talk like that what US is suppose to do. They are NATO allies. When did India threatended any country in this fashion? Iran(good old Perscia) want to dominate that region. And intimidate Gulf nations. We all know Percian history.

The contention that we are selling our sovereignity to the US is a load of crap !!!

Let the US walk out whenever they want to...! Remember, that the US is not the main supplier of Uranium.. and there is nothing in the agreement to say that we should not stock some Uranium for use. Atleast till that time we can have the right to import Uranium and generate some power. In any event, our need for Uranium is till the time our reactors using Thorium are not ready. After that we are free to use th fuel of our choice.. and would certainly go in for locally available Thorium.
The intervening period .. say the next 10-15 years... is crucial for our development. The left obviously recognises this, and wants to see that we fail in comparison with their gods.. the Chinese.
