It's an excellent article and people also have given excellent comments. But the question that needs to be answered is why are the Hindus(followers of Varnashrama dharma) so powerless? The reason is simple. We don't study our sacred book like Bhagavad-Gita and Ramayana or Mahabharata even 15 min daily. That's why we are rendered powerless. But if we recitify ourselves and place our faith in the teaching of great acarya like Ramanujacarya or Srila Prabhupada, then what to speak of this country or world, we can even rule the universe. It's not really needed. One should understand & follow the Morals out of those great holy books.
Problem with the Indians dates back to thousands of years. Say from 1000 AD. Barbaric Muslim rulers started invading India. Later the British. During all these years, there is lack of 'Super-Strong' Unity!
One Indian ditches against other. One Indian back stabs against other. One Indian cheats against other. And, so on...
The very same "Sutra" is being exploited by these present day Politicians. What's more funny is Indians have never realized that they have lost their Power!!

NO. Unless one studies the sastra given by bonafide acaryas like Ramanujacarya and Srila Prabhupada one will not be remain moral. It is this lack of connection with our spiritual teachers that makes us immoral and powerless. Try out the method and you will see the difference in life. Good luck.

The answer is... there is no such thing called hindu. Hinduism is just a farce. It is a branch twiggling out of the actual backbone that starts with adam, gets to Ismail, to Jesus, to Mohammed (PBUH) who were all messengers of god. Rama might hv been one of the 1,70,000 messengers of god who descended to the earth till date. Its real foolish we start praying messengers, while they have preached us to worship no one else but for god. To get our foundation right, we need access to a nice documentation. Get the basics right.
